Comprising of seven limited-edition made-to order cocktail rings, each piece showcases Stephen Webster’s impeccable craftsmanship and attention to detail and is bursting with unique personality and charisma, referencing the heroine who inspired it.

“Each cocktail ring has its own individual story, connected only as a collection by the fact that each piece is inspired by a strong powerful women throughout history, and in all walks of life. Specialist jewellery techniques feature across the seven cocktail rings, with a combination of stones that I find work together but may surprise people. This approach plays to our strength, incorporating everything we possibly can in regards to our skills and craftsmanship, and visualising this into a collective. This is really us at our best.”

- Stephen Webster, MBE.

INTRODUCING MAKING WAVES
Inspired by Rachel Carson

Rachel Carson spent most of her life below the water line. A marine biologist in the US bureau of fishers by trade, she was also a great writer and storyteller and eventually towelled down and turned her hand to become a full-time nature writer. Carson’s nonfiction Trilogy of The Seas became unlikely best sellers.

Her last book published two years before she died really ruffled some feathers, Silent Spring, another non-fiction was very much about dry land. Carson questioned the extensive use of synthetic pesticides, the damage they caused to the health of people and the environment in general and this attention was not universally welcomed. There was a fierce backlash from the chemical companies and many questions asked of government bodies and individuals who had accepted the lobbying without question as to the obvious side effects. The book and reaction spurred a reversal of the national pesticide policy, the universal banning of DDT and a grassroots movement that led to the US environmental protection agency. Carson died before she could witness the massive impact she had started, however posthumously she was awarded the presidential medal of freedom by then President Carter.

The Making Waves ReBelle features an expertly hand-carved central Moonstone, depicting the faces found in the lost city of Atlantis. Set in 18ct white Gold and surrounded by grey and white Diamond spines, referencing the fish tails found on the seabed that Carson spent her life protecting.

Limited production of 10 per design, each ReBelle is numbered and engraved with their individual name. Discover the collection online here or exclusively at our Mount Street Salon, click here for directions.
